Im Juli werden übrigens noch zwei großartige Underground-Scheiben erscheinen, bei denen ich jeweils schon die Ehre hatte, hinein hören zu dürfen.

Zum einen hätten wir da die Augsburger Prog-Metaller von DANTE mit ihrem zweiten Album "Saturnine", das ich als bekennender Prog-Skeptiker ohne jede Übertreibung zu den besten Prog-Alben meiner Sammlung zählen kann. Ein echter Überflieger, herrlich gesungen und traumhaft arrangiert. Perfekt für Prog-Rocker und Prog-Metaller, weil es eben nicht selbstgefällig dudelt oder sich verzettelt, sondern Gefühl, Anspruch und Härte perfekt verbindet:


Und zum anderen ist es meinen alten irischen Faves von STEEL TORMENTOR endlich, endlich gelungen, ihr zweites Album "Return Of A King" fertig zu stellen. Daran gefällt mir immens gut, dass sie zum einen den Hammersound für traditionellen Metal des Jahres 2010 gefunden haben, und zum anderen, dass sie im Gegensatz zu 90% der aktuell abgefeierten NWoBHM-Retromanen einen eigenen Charakter entwickelt haben und nicht 1:1 nach alten Jaguar, Maiden & Co. klingen:


Dass beide Scheiben ein überragendes Artwork haben, kommt erschwerend hinzu...
