On August 30th we will put out 2 releases of NOMAD SON: the new (3rd) studio album "The Darkening" and a re-release of their sold-out 2008 debut album together with an exclusive DVD, entitled "First Light / Pilgrimages of Doom".
If somebody still doesn't know NOMAD SON, they were formed in 2006 by Albert Bell (veteran of the scene known from FORSAKEN) and 4 guys from Maltese heavy rock band FRENZY MONO. They play traditional doom metal with '70s hard rock and classic heavy metal influences, with versatility of moods and tempos, unique vocals and ominous soundscapes created by Hammonds... But it's better to listen to the music instead of writing/reading descriptions.
So... you can listen to 3 songs off the new album, "The Devil's Banquet", "The Darkening" and "Descent to Hell", see the tracklist and more details on the page of this release. And here's a short promo clip (featuring a fragment of another song, "Orphaned Crown"):

As for "Pilgrimages of Doom" DVD: It will be out on DVDplus format (with CD and DVD side). The DVD contains over 2 hours of pro-filmed and edited exclusive footage from the band's gigs at HOD VI, Doomsday IV, HOA XII warm-up and DSR VII festivals, interview, a song from Maltese TV program and slideshow.
You can find more details about "First Light / Pilgrimages of Doom", including the CD and DVD track lists on the page of this release.
I'm not familiar with their music yet, but I always wanted to give them a listen (will do that later). The new cover looks really great, one of your best!

Dann schnapp dir die First Light. Ganz grob gesagt typischer Black Sabbath-Doom mit schönen HammondflÀchen, dazu Gesang, der einem Blitz von Overkill nicht ganz unÀhnlich ist. Recht eigenstÀndige Kombination.
Forged out of flame - From chaos to destiny Bringer of pain - Forever undying Judas is rising

Thank you, Markus! This time I (and the band) wanted something in the chiaro-scuro style of Caravaggio and other tenebrists, which I personally love. The result is far from the masters, but I'm quite satisfied with it anyway. It was good to take the canvas, brushes and oil paints again (as the previous 3 covers I painted in Photoshop). I definitely prefer it to the cover for NOMAD SON's previous album "The Eternal Return".
